Sunrise in Alief - ft. Minus of Flow Factory

Minus and I go way back. I've known him for over 10 years. I met him my freshman year at the University of St.Thomas. We used to just talk about hip hop, music, and life. Then one day he invited me to a show he was doing @ Instant Karma. I showed up and realized that he was one of the best lyricist and my favorite MC period. Anyway, this was a track we recorded almost a year ago from today. Check it out & enjoy! 

Liner Note: 

I made this beat sometime in 2002. It was originally for a remix contest on www.houstonhiphop.com for Mos Def's Ms. Fatbooty (I ended up winning that contest). Anyway, I thought I already lost this beat, but one day, after cleaning up my studio, I found a zip disk labeled "BEATZofDOOM" and on it was this track. So I loaded it up on the MPC & realized that I shouldn't waste it; so I emailed it to Minus telling him to write some "introspective" lyrics over it. I ended the email saying "let me know when you're ready to record so I can set up studio time at Sunrise (studio) in Alief." He took that line and wrote this classic track. Anyway, we were so happy of how it turned out that we sent it off to our boy FWMJ of www.rapppersiknow.com. He put it up on his world famous blog and next thing we know, we were getting hit up on my myspace with props from Germany, Japan, some eastern European countries and all over US. Minus and I will definitely be working on tracks & hitting the studio more.

Closer - ft. The Legendary K.O.

So this is my first blog. Don't get all excited! I wont be writing about personal rants or subliminal disses to whoever I don't like; this is just a little something to keep ya'll in touch with what I'm working on. Whether it's a new beat, a new song, a new mix, a party coming up, or just some random thoughts about music, I'll post/upload it on here for your reading/listening pleasure and maybe I can get some feedback. Positive or constructive. Haterism, also welcomed...lol!

The first installment is the track titled "Closer" featuring Houston's own Legendary K.O. (formerly known as K-Otix). This is the 2nd single of my upcoming album.


Liner Note: I made this beat sometime in 2003. But it wasn't until early 2008 when I decided to clean it up a little and give it to Damien and Mic to write some lyrics to. Ever since I started making beats, It's been a dream of mines to work with these guys. So it was such an honor when Damien agreed to be a part of my project. I first heard the rough version of this song while I was in my hotel room on a business trip in Panama. Due to work & life circumstances, it took about 8 months before I finally finished the track & got it mixed. I usually have my cousin engineer most of my songs at Sunrise Studios, but he's been MIA lately so I had this one sent off to get mixed. This is the first song that was completely put together online (Mic & D sent me the vocals via email and the session was sent off online to get mixed). Anyway, give it a listen and give me some feedback. Thanks!
